#NCAA101: Benilde Pep Squad snags 7th place in cheerleading competition


The Blazers Pep Squad rattled the floor with their routine and was awarded 7th place.

The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Pep Squad placed 7th with a score of 151.5 points in the NCAA Season 101 Cheerleading Competition, today, March 12, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. 

 

Waving the flag of green and white all the way from Taft, the Blazers Pep Squad delivered a spirited performance. Performing last, Benilde showcased excellence through clean and well-executed floor exercises, single base stunts, and dismounts. The team closed out the routine with a shoulder sit twist and a firm pyramid full of pride.

 

On the other hand, the Arellano University (AU) Chiefs Squad proved to be the team to beat, claiming the championship title and narrating history with their routine seven-peat championship. Through their winning ways, sky-touching lifts, and unbreakable pyramids, they bagged a ₱100,000 cash prize.

 

Moreover, for the fourth consecutive year, the University of Perpetual Help System-Dalta (UPHSD) Altas Perpsquad bagged the silver crown. At the same time, the Colegio De San Juan De Letran (CSJL) Cheering Squad rounded out the top three with the bronze medal. The cash prizes received by the second and third placers were ₱75,000.00 and ₱50,000.00, respectively.

AU Chiefs Squad: Champion (231 points)

Altas Perpsquad: 2nd place (221 points)

Letran Cheering Squad: 3rd place (199.5 points)

EAC Generals Pep Squad: 4th place (185.5 points)

Jose Rizal University (JRU) Pep Squad: 5th place (162 points)

San Beda Red Corps: 6th place (155.5 points)

Benilde Blazers Pep Squad: 7th place (151.5 points)

Golden Stags Cheerleading Squad: 8th place (146.5 points)

Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Pirates Pep Squad: 9th place (139 points)

Mapúa Cheering Cardinals: 10th place (129.2 points)
