“Meraki: A Love Affair” is where hearts and arts unite

Love grows where creativity and community are celebrated—at Taft, close to where our hearts reside.

Open your hearts and experience love in multiple ways with Meraki: A Love Affair, a University Student Government (USG) event of De La Salle University (DLSU), happening from Feb. 9 to 13.

Inspired by the meaning behind the Greek word “meraki,” five days were planned to celebrate the presence of love in the air with a week-long bazaar located at the Cory Aquino Democratic Space (CADS) and other selected campus venues. Whether you plan to look around the festivities and enjoy the company of a friend, a lover, or even yourself, this Valentine’s event offers various activities that incorporate creativity and community.

More than just chocolates and roses

The weeklong bazaar opens spaces for different appearances of affection. The Creative Corner lets participants craft personalized gifts, whilst a Valentine-themed photo studio captures photos worth keeping. And for those who prefer keeping their feelings concealed and moving, the Love-Gram Delivery service dispatches messages and tokens across the campus.

Meanwhile, various workshops throughout the week offer chances to create something that lasts. Heartfelt Hues brings a painting session inspired by Sip-and-Gosh events, and a Flower Arrangement Workshop that teaches the art of giving through blooms.

The week builds toward Meraki Nights: Harana Music Fest, a Valentine’s concert set to fill the campus with live performances from the student artists and invited guests. As the celebration’s culminating night, it encourages Lasallians to sing along and spend the evening wrapped in music and shared kilig

For a campus often caught up in deadlines and submissions, “Meraki: A Love Affair” offers something different: the permission to slow down, feel the romance in the air, and put love into action–whether that’s for others or yourself!

You’ll never know, maybe this is when you’ll finally experience the organic encounter you have been waiting for.
